Are you a bookworm? Do you have friends that loves reading? storybook, cookbook, comic, or even lecture notes! :P
I love feathers. It's so light and gentle. But.....but it's way too flimsy for me to hold on (I admit i'm not gentle with things like these ok!) :( So, I've researched up and down for an alternative for these feathers that is not as flimsy as the real ones. Then, I stumbled upon a whole stack of papers in my drawer and tried it out.
It turned out GREAT!
Here's how I did it!

Materials needed:
Black regular A4 paper (80g) : Popular Bookstore (RM 2.90 per pack of 30's)
White cotton thread : DAISO (RM 5.30 per roll)
Gold glitter dust : Mr.DIY (RM0.90)
Feather Template
Double sided tape
Regular liquid glue
Scissors
Pen
Step 1:
Draw / print a template of your choice on an A4 sized paper.
There are million kinds of feather templates available online. If you're bad in drawing (like me :P), print them! Nobody would know aite! :P
I've got mine from one of my FAVORITE and well known diy-er, lia griffith. Check her out for more amazing paper diy too!

Step 2:
Trace 2 sets of the same feather template onto the black color paper.
If you use a black paper like I did, try using a different colored pen for a much visible outline.
Step 3:
Snip it off! (be extra careful with the edges, you don't wanna have a retarded feather. :P)
Step 4:
Apply glue onto one side of one of the paper feather.
Step 5:
Place the thread onto the middle of the paper feather (acts as the feather quill).
Step 6:
Sandwich it with the second paper feather (gently press it to ensure it is secured).
Step 7:
Snip off the thread, leaving approximately 10 cm attached onto the paper feather.
HERE'S THE FUN PART!
Worried that the gold dust might get a little messy??
Place a piece of paper that is fold into half underneath your work place.
Use a double sided tape instead of a liquid glue to prevent sticky hands and messy table.

Step 8:
Use a double sided tape instead of a liquid glue to prevent sticky hands and messy table.
Step 8:
Tape it onto the 1/3 bottom of the paper feather and trim off the excess tape according to the outline.
Step 9:
Shower the double taped are with the gold glitter dust (ensure all parts are covered).
Dust off the excess gold glitter dust onto the paper underneath.
Fold the paper onto a shape of a funnel and pour it back into the container.
DONE!
Paper feather bookmark for the bookworms!
Customize them in different colors and shapes too!
